Hyatt Place Lakewood Ranch Finishes $3 Million Renovation of All 122 Rooms

Hyatt Place Lakewood Ranch has finished a $3 million renovation that touched every one of its 122 guest rooms and every shared space in the building, from the lobby to the pool deck. Lodgco Hospitality, the Michigan-based company that owns and operates the hotel at 6021 Exchange Way, ran the project from May through the end of August.

The work was not cosmetic touch-ups here and there. Guest rooms got new mattresses, TVs, artwork, lighting, seating and window treatments. New flooring and wall vinyl went into both the rooms and the common areas. The lounge, bar and dining spaces got fresh paint and new soft seating. Outside, the pool area and terrace got new furniture. The meeting room and fitness center were updated too.

Lodgco President Scott Stuart called the project "a significant investment ... in the growing Lakewood Ranch community." Pam Hagen, the company's director of capital and facilities, said the goal was to give guests "a fresh and comfortable experience" with a more contemporary look throughout the property, which opened in 2017.

Why it matters here

For residents, the hotel is less a tourist stop than a stand-in for a guest room. It's where out-of-town family stays during a graduation weekend, where a wedding block goes, where a visiting client or a college recruiter ends up sleeping. A full refresh means that room is no longer the same one that opened nine years ago.

General Manager Serena Rouleau said the hotel plans to invite community partners in for a firsthand look at the changes. No date has been set for that event yet.

Part of a bigger regional push

Lodgco owns 21 hotels across Florida, Michigan, North Carolina and Colorado, including five other properties in the Sarasota-Manatee area: Hyatt Place Sarasota Airport, Home2 Suites Nokomis Casey Key, Hampton Inn & Suites North Port, Coral Pointe Sarasota and Caretta Landing Sarasota. Two of those, formerly known as Ameniti Bay and Magnolia Pointe, just went through their own roughly $2 million rebranding.

The timing lines up with a bigger story about the community around the hotel. Lakewood Ranch ranked No. 1 among multi-generational master-planned communities nationwide in RCLCO Real Estate Consulting's midyear 2026 survey, and No. 2 overall. The community logged 1,035 new-home sales at midyear and now counts more than 80,000 residents. A hotel operator sinking $3 million into a nine-year-old building is a small but concrete bet that the growth keeps coming.
