Life Time's athletic country club opens in Lakewood Ranch with a beach club and 14 pickleball courts
The more than 180,000-square-foot club at 5000 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. N. opened Oct. 12. Life Time lists adult memberships from $339 a month, month-to-month, with tours and day passes available.
Life Time's new athletic country club on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard opened its doors at 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, according to the company's announcement. The club at 5000 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. N. covers more than 180,000 square feet, split among an 86,000-square-foot athletic club, a beach club of nearly 50,000 square feet and a pickleball complex of about the same size.
Life Time's website lists adult memberships starting at $339 a month, billed month-to-month with 30 days' notice to cancel. Rates rise as family members are added, depending on who is included under the company's membership guidelines.
What's inside
The beach club has a leisure pool with waterslides, a lap pool, cabanas, lounge chairs and outdoor dining with poolside service.
Pickleball players get 14 courts, three indoors and 11 outside. The club also offers rejuvenation suites with cold plunge, whirlpool, steam and sauna; a full-service spa and salon; the LifeCafe; and studios for signature classes including Alpha, GTX and a reformer class called CTR.
Parents can use Kids Academy, which Life Time says provides programming and supervised care for children from 3 months to 11 years old. The club also has a LifeClinic with licensed chiropractors and a coworking lounge that members can use at no extra charge.
What membership covers
According to Life Time, every membership includes the workout floor, group studio classes, locker rooms and the club's amenities. Signature-level members also get specialized group training classes, earlier reservation windows and access to more clubs in the Life Time network.
The company's fine print says pricing and amenities can change, and that access to some areas, with outdoor pools given as an example, may require a separate fee. It is worth asking about outdoor pool access when getting an exact quote.
October join offers
Life Time is promoting complimentary benefits for people who join in October. New members can pick one free starter service: an intro personal training session, a goal-setting session or a weight-loss consultation, the website says.
Families who enroll a child between 4 months and 13 years old in recurring monthly group swim lessons get the first four consecutive lessons free.
Hours and how to try it
The club's web page lists hours of 4 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday and 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Free guided tours, including evening and weekend times, can be booked online through the club's web page. Life Time also offers day passes that give full member access for a day, a way to take a class and look around before deciding.
Life Time says the Lakewood Ranch location is its eighth in Florida, its second on the Gulf Coast and its first ground-up club in the Tampa-Sarasota region.
